Every booking starts with the same conversation: your venue light, your dress, your skin and how the morning needs to run. Choose the shape that fits, and the details get set in the trial.
A full application designed with you at the trial and repeated exactly on the day, with a small touch-up kit matched to your formula.
Makeup for the people getting ready beside you, planned into a written timeline so nobody is rushed and nobody is waiting in a robe.
An unhurried session to test the look in daylight and in flash, adjust it together, and write down every product so the morning is a repeat, not a first attempt.
Process
Four steps, no surprises. You will always know what happens next and roughly when it happens.
Send your date, venue area and party size. You get a reply with availability and a plain outline of what the booking includes.
We meet in daylight, try two directions, photograph both with and without flash, then narrow it to one and record the formula.
A written running order arrives a few weeks out — who sits when, how long each person takes, and when the room needs to be clear.
Quiet setup, calm pace, you last in the chair. A final check before you dress, then your kit goes with whoever is holding your bag.
Looks
The studio leans on soft khaki, shell and clay tones — colours that sit beside ivory fabric and warm venue light instead of fighting them.
Nothing is applied on the morning that you have not already seen on your own face, in your own light.
The artist
Sora Orbit began in a borrowed corner of a florist's workroom, doing makeup for friends who wanted to look like themselves on the most photographed day of their lives. It is still a one-artist studio, with an assistant brought in only when the party is large.
The approach is unglamorous on purpose: understand the skin in front of you, prepare it properly, and use the smallest amount of product that gets the result. Everything else — the timeline, the calm, the second cup of tea — is part of the job too.

Yes — bridal mornings are always done where you are getting ready. Travel within the surrounding counties is standard; anything further is quoted with the enquiry so there is nothing added later.
For the bride, yes. It is the only way to test wear on your skin, agree the finish and write the formula down. Bridal party members do not need one, though anyone can book a preview if they would like to.
It depends on party size and your photographer's schedule. Once both are known you receive a written timeline working backwards from the time you need to be dressed, with a buffer built in.
Often, yes. Tell me at the enquiry stage and the trial is used to patch-test gentler alternatives well before the date, so nothing new meets your skin on the wedding morning.
